Omaha poker is played more than just a fun game, though playing it at low-limit is relatively easier compared to its other types. Omaha is often for winning profits.
Most Omaha players can use a lot of room for improvement, since the game is very simple, using easy mathematics and strategies that may be simpler than those used in Holdem. When we use an Omaha poker strategy properly, paying particular attention to playing strong starting hands, good pre-flop hand selection, and a well timed betting strategy—and especially when the opponent does the exact opposite of these three factors—Omaha mathematics will soon add up to our odds.
If we're talking of poker profits, it's got to be Omaha we're talking about. Omaha played well can build us a hefty bankroll from meager capacity. In fact, if we play a $3/6 table we would only need about one-half the money we would use for Holdem with the same table limit. Omaha can yield a higher win rate by the hour. Hence, a profitable poker can be had with Omaha.
Unlike in Holdem, Omaha bad players don't stand much chance in the game. Fun game sessions, probably, and winning a pot or two now and then, but not a profitable overall experience. Holdem can also be fun and winnable but to a lesser degree, considering the Holdem weak odds especially when the game is played loosely by weak players. In Holdem, weak players may pool resources together to try to earn some pot odds and have some advantage as weak players at the table. This sometimes upsets the play of even strong players.
Omaha poker doesn't afford the same convenience to weak players. If five weak players play at the table, they won't affect the plays of two other players much, and it may even end up with only the two players fighting each other over the best of the 5 weak players. For all we know, a nut flush against a top set are the only hands in a real fight at the table, while the 5 other players are just waiting for a death sentence with their two-pairs or perhaps baby flushes.
Omaha affords wide rooms for players' odds; Holdem doesn't give as much. Low-limit Omaha poker affords more winning chances if we play it well. Just imagine the minimum bankroll needed to play this game. Winning here is cheaper.
For a practical profit-oriented poker game, the right choice is Omaha poker.
